Bethesda has just released the classic Wolfenstein 3D (the game that helped popularize the first-person shooter genre as well as starting iD Software on its path to becoming a household name in the 1990s) to play for free on the web, to mark the 20th anniversary of its release. Have fun

First there was Star Wars, the movie. Then there was Star Wars, the TV series (okay, The Clone Wars). Then there was Star Wars themed Lego. Then there was the Lego Star Wars video game.
Activision Blizzard has announced that development of Guitar Hero has been discontinued and the business unit disbanded. This leaves Rock Band pretty much as the lone contender in the once-profitable "rhythm game" category.
Looks like it's fun and games over in the Canadian Forces, where they just placed an order for about 500 copies of various video games, including Gears Of War, Call Of Duty, and Rock Band, among others.
Looks like the oft-announced, never-released Duke Nukem Forever is back on again. Given how many incarnations of the game there have "almost been", I'm assuming it will feature zombies?
Ars Technica has an article up with a behind-the-scenes peek at Blizzard, makers of World of Warcraft. As part of that article, they mention that after five and ten years with the company, you get a sword and a shield respectively. Beats a gold pocket watch. I'm just saying.
